My Daily Essential Oils Routine
by Katie on February 4, 2015
The biggest question I get is “How would I use them?” I wanted to address this by sharing my daily routine with you! Essential oils are a daily part of my life.
This is the daily routine, but it does change from day to day if I’m addressing something different. I started out with the Premium Starter Kit (and many of the oils shared today are in that kit) and have moved on to adding things. The kit is the BEST way to start because it comes with a great range of oils and the diffuser (which you will see below how much I love it!).
Okay, so let’s get to it!
In the morning I apply a drop of joy to my heart to help uplift my
mood throughout the day. I laughed at the people who said this (back
when I was still skeptical). I mean…I was sure they helped with rest and
relaxation, but MOOD? Folks, it’s no joke – I love my Joy!I also start every morning (and end every evening) with 1 drop each of Peppermint, Lemon, and Lavender to support my sinuses. I rub Lavender right inside nose and the rest of them go on my forehead and back of neck. I’ve never felt better! I swear by these three!
When I go out I always take my glass water bottle (with a couple drops of lemon or orange), Deep Relief, and my Thieves hand purifier. The water tastes delicious and it just makes me feel good. The Deep Relief is an essential and I apply it to my forehead or back of neck when I could use some deep relief. Thieves hand purifier is amazing and doesn’t leave my hands with a dried out feeling at all.
The diffuser has come to my rescue and I use it each day (and I love using it at night, too). It comes with the Premium Starter Kit and it’s a must-have if you want to get started in essential oils. It’s a great way to naturally purify the air. I have several oils that I LOVE to diffuse, but Purification is my go-to. It keeps the air fresh and clean.
That same oil, Purification, is great for so many other things! That’s what I love…each oil is good for multiple purposes.
I usually use Valor or Stress Away at some point during most days. They are both in my “top 5″ oils. Stress Away’s purpose is pretty self explanatory, I think. And Valor is an amazing blend that promotes feelings of courage and strength, aiding in a good nights rest, and can gently soothe away the tension I so often feel in my neck. I use it for the latter the most.
Pretty much every day I bust out my Thieves cleaner. I got the cleaner at the same time as I got my kit. I have since gotten rid of every other cleaner I had. I have two bottles – light duty and medium duty. It cleans my windows, counters, toilets and I even clean my fruit with it?!
Have you looked at the ingredients in your cleaners lately? Umm…kind of like the candles. You should take a minute and look up WHAT is in your cleaners.
I was even painting the other day and neglected to clean my brush in time and the warm water and soap wasn’t getting all of the paint off. Spayed my Thieves cleaner on it, scrubbed, and away it went. Then I realized I got some paint on my favorite pants and the Thieves and a little scrubbing took the paint out. If only Thieves could keep me from being such a messy painter…
I’ve also started using others from the Thieves product line like the toothpaste and hand soap!
Aghhh…Deep Relief. Why am I bringing it back up? Because I’m reinforcing that it’s a MUST. I just got it the other week and will never be without. It rose to the top of the favorites after one use. My husband loves it, I let my sister-in-law use it and she loved it, I also let my mom use it and she loved it. It’s just simply awesome, and it smells great!
At night we end our day with using oils topically and/or diffusing them and it’s ZZZZZZZZ’s all night!
Last year I read SO many books because I would just lay in bed. It was great reading, but terrible in the morning if you know what I mean. Now that I use Cedarwood and Lavender it’s all zzzzzzzzz’s. I don’t go to bed without them. I just don’t.
I put a drop of Cedarwood on our feet, and I like to use Cedarwood and Lavender in the diffuser. It really makes the room smell wonderful and so relaxing. I like starting it a little while before we go up to bed so I can really enjoy the spa-like smell.
I also end the day with a drop of thieves on the feet to help support my immune system. Thieves is a must have oil and I also love to drink it in my tea if I’m feeling a subpar. See, SO many uses for these bottles of oil! I’m constantly amazed when I find new ways to use them!
If you have questions about the oils I would love to chat with you more about them – please feel free to contact me. I love them so much and have seen us benefit in so many ways and I just can’t contain my excitement!! And if you want to check into ordering your own Premium Starter Kit check out this post.
Enjoy living the Young Living lifestyle!
